Lions Clubs International will continue its efforts for the cure of reversible blindness by organising eye camps, cataract surgeries, cornea grafting, and diabetes screening camps. These thoughts were shared by MCC Lion Raza Ali at the MJF honouring ceremony to commemorate the birth anniversary of the founder of Lions Clubs International Melvin Jones, held on January 13 in Karachi.
The ceremony was organised to honour the lion members who had significantly contributed towards the cause of humanitarian service and had achieved the status of Melvin Jones Fellow.
Event Chairman, Lion Noman Arshad said that Lions Clubs had maintained its tradition of recognising members who had generously contributed towards the cause of serving humanity. At the event, Lions Club District Governors Samina Sikandar, Lion Ayesha Malik, and Lion Tasneem Ahmed also emphasized the importance of humanitarian assistance for social development of the nation. The main ceremony was followed by a cake cutting ceremony and a sumptuous breakfast comprising of dishes from all provinces of Pakistan. The event was attended by lion dignitaries in large numbers including past council chairmen, past district governors, club members and social elites.
