Citizens of the twin cities breathed a sigh of relief as around 100 CNG stations reopened on Sunday after being closed for more than 19 consecutive days.
A large number of public and private vehicles rushed to get fuel, and long queues were seen outside CNG stations.
Citizens have expressed relief over the reopening of gas filling stations and said they had been restricted to their homes due to the high price and non-availability of petrol. They urged the government and authorities to ensure a smooth supply of CNG.
The decision to reopen CNG stations in Rawalpindi was announced by the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) chairman after the filling stations’ owners received a stay order from the court against the stoppage of their business.
