A police constable was injured by a robber on Saturday.
According to details, Constable Ishfaq was returning home when a man stopped him to ask for a ride. Ishfaq agreed and after traveling for a few minutes, the man took out a handgun and tried to rob the constable.
Upon offering resistance, the man opened fire and injured Ishfaq.
However, Ishfaq did not loosen his grip on the robber until police arrived and arrested the man.
The constable was taken to the hospital and an FIR was lodged against the accused. Police sources said that the man was notorious for asking for rides from unsuspecting citizens and then robbing them.
