Hazara Mugal Youth Forum Pakistan (HMYF) President Sardar Mehdi Mussa on Saturday said that over a thousand Hazaras had been killed during the last 10 years but not a single killer or culprit had ever been convicted.
Flanked by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders Raza Haroon and Wasey Jalil, he said the Government of Balochistan had completely failed and must be dismissed for its failure to save the lives of 102 Hazaras who were recently killed in a twin blast in Quetta.
Addressing a press conference here at the Karachi Press Club (KPC), Mehdi said the Hazara community was living in Quetta since 100 years and they were living peacefully in Pakistan. He said his father was first killed in an incident of target killing in Karachi in December 1997, and from that day to date, 1,000 Hazara people had been killed all over Pakistan, especially in Quetta.
Mehdi said the government and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan were not taking any action against this serious matter and terrorists were growing stronger with each passing day. He said “We have stopped our youth from any action because the government and law enforcement agencies are aware that if our youth comes out, there will be fire in all over Quetta”.
“The government is either waiting for that to happen, and if not, then government should took immediate action against those terrorists who were involved in target killing of Hazara community in Pakistan”
He demanded that Quetta should be handed over to the army and other law enforcement agencies alongside the army should launch targeted operations against terrorists in Quetta. He also demanded from the Federal Government of Pakistan that the Government of Balochistan should be dissolved because the heads of Balochistan government had miserably failed to make peace in Quetta.
He further demanded form Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take suo moto action regarding the killing of Hazara community members because the government had failed to control the situation.
MQM leader Raza Haroon strongly condemned the killing of 102 Hazaras in Quetta and said that MQM was the first political party which condemned the killing of 102 Hazara people in bomb blast, while no other provisional and fedral government leaders ever met with Hazara people. He said MQM was standing with the Hazara community, and due to the incident of Quetta, the MQM had announced not to participate in the long march.
He said MQM leader Altaf Hussain was continuously in contact with the president, prime minister and interior minister of Pakistan after the Quetta incident happened, and he demanded that immediate action should be taken to arrest the terrorists who were in involved in the mayhem.
Earlier, dozens of Hazara people also protested and staged a sit-in at the KPC to protest Quetta killings. They chanted slogans against the Government of Balochistan, Chief Minister Aslam Raisani and his cabinet members.
