CCP calls for peaceful long march

The citizens of Pakistan succeeded in restoring the independent judiciary, established the supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law through consistent and sustained efforts and sacrifices. The mandate of the constitution requires free, fair, transparent and timely elections. This fundamental right to democratic governance guaranteed by the constitution cannot be taken away by any person or institution, individually or in collusion with others. If any mala fide efforts are made to derail the proper functioning of democracy by anyone, from within or without Pakistan, they will face strong resistance from 180 million Pakistanis. Let anyone who wants to march to Islamabad go peacefully if they must, provided that they do not take the law into their own hands, do not create anarchy or derail the democratic process and the timely conduct of elections, and they undertake to disperse peacefully.
