The city police on Friday enhanced the security of sensitive installations and important locations in the wake of blasts in Quetta. Capital City Police Chief, Additional IG Aslam Tareen said that he had directed DIG (Operation) and all additional SSPs (Operation), including SDPOs and SHOs, to remain on high alert to ensure foolproof security in their respective areas.
He further said that he had directed the police officers to take effective precautionary measures, especially at crowded public places, to prevent incidents of terrorism and subversion.
Tareen ordered the deployment of plain clothesmen wherever necessary. Police officers were also directed to utilise all the available resources and their best professional skills to maintain vigil against suspects and dubious elements. He also urged the people to cooperate with police in this regard, saying that in case they find any unclaimed baggage or see any shady character or activity they must immediately inform police emergency and Rescue 15.
