Charsadda blast injures former KPK minister

At least 12 people were injured when a convoy of Awami National Party’s (ANP) leader was attacked in Umerzai area of Charsadda on Saturday.
Per details, the attack was orchestrated at 9:40 a.m. on the convoy of Awami National Party (ANP) provincial leader Bashir Umarzai who was heading for a court hearing accompanied by his father and brother. The bomb was planted at the road side and was detonated using a remote controlled device.
The blast was followed by heavy rounds of gun fire between the Umarzai’s guards and the miscreants. Later, the provincial government dispatched large contingent of police and security forces at the blast site. Bashir Umarzai alongwith five others were referred to medical facilities of Peshawar while all the others injured were shifted to Charsdda district head quarters hospital.
Bashir Umarzai is a former KPK forestry minister and member provincial assembly.
