The Supreme Court (SC) Friday sought a clarification from National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over the removal of investigation officer in the Rental Power case, a local TV channel said.
An apex court bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry ordered NAB to present a comprehensive report.
The chief justice said that NAB should end corruption rather than protecting it.
NAB Deputy Prosecutor General Fauzi Zafar told the bench that DG NAB Rawalpindi, Principal Secretary NAB Brigadier Farooq and DG Operations Shehzad Bhatti had been suspended for removing Asghar Khan from the probe while Asghar has been assigned the task again.
