Undeterred by the backtracking of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Tehreek Minhajul Quran (TMQ) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Friday vowed to go ahead with his proposed long march to Islamabad.
Addressing a press conference, Qadri said that the long march would commence as per schedule and “there should be no confusion about it”.
He said that the government had lost moral, legal and constitutional authority to govern the country after Thursday’s string of bombings in Quetta and Swat which killed more than 116 people.
He praised the Supreme Court (SC) for dismissing the petitions filed against the TMQ long march.
Earlier in the day, a senior TMQ official, Rahiq Abbasi, had told a private TV channel that the MQM’s withdrawal from the long march would not affect the TMQ schedule.
In a twist to the high drama which began after Qadri’s announcement on December 23 to march on Islamabad which was backed by the MQM, the party announced that it would not be participating in the event “due to security concerns”.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is like American Evangelists. All this talk about people's rights from an unelected preacher, with no thoughts about the danger to the lives of the common man! And what about the millions spent on such vanity? If the MQI has so much money given by the people, it would not be wrong then to say that the people of Pakistan have plenty of money to spare. Is this the 'poor' he is fighting for? Why not spend this money on actual welfare of the people?
This march will bring more problems in the life of common Pakistanis,as they are already suffering from terrorism.
What have they been doing..do your homework look at Minhaj Welfare..helping not just the Pakistanis but Muslims across the world…
Religion and state are two seperate affairs and should never be intermixed Dr Tahirul Qadri is just another poser in the long line of failed and greedy Pakistani politicians who are good at lies and empty promises.
