At least 10 people were killed and 27 others were injured when a bomb blast rocked Bacha Khan Chowk, Quetta, according to a private TV channel.
The blast took place in a busy market during peak hours. The injured include four Frontier Corps (FC) personnel among others.
Surrounding shops and other buildings have been destroyed while contingents of police, law enforcement and paramedical agencies have reached the site of the blast.
According to initial reports, the bomb used in the blast was planted under a car and carried 20 to 25 kilograms of explosive material.
No one has yet claimed the responsibility of the blast.
