The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday started initiated door-to-door voter verification in Karachi.
The verification of electoral rolls in the metropolis is scheduled till February 1. The ECP staff has been provided a security cover by Police, Rangers and the Army. The ECP staff deputed to verify rolls in Karachi would not be granted any leave till February 1. The staff was directed to ensure verification of voter lists even if they have to pay a ‘dozen visits’ to the voters’ residences, said Sindh election commissioner Mehboob Anwar at a press conference on Wednesday evening.
