All security arrangements for the federal capital during Dr Tahir ul Qadri’s long march have been finalised.
Interior ministry sources said on Wednesday that the ministry had finalised all arrangements to deal with any untoward incidents during the long march. Security personnel will be deployed on all entry and exit points of the city, key highways and buildings, sources added. They said the busiest commercial centre of federal capital, Blue area, would be shut for three days including Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The ministry had issued necessary directives to traders in this regard.
Sources said around 10,000 security personnel from the federal police, Rangers, FC, Police commandos, special branch and other agencies will be deployed in Islamabad as part of the security arrangements, and additional contingents will also be kept on alert.
They said the diplomatic enclave, red zone, D-Chowk and other important areas would be sealed. National identity cards and proper documentation for vehicles will be mandatory for everyone who wanted to enter the capital during the march.
