LDA employees to be regularised: Durrani

Provincial Minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Khan Durrani Tuesday said that all the contractual employees of Lyari Development Authority (LDA) were being made permanent on special directives of President Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah. This was decided at a meeting of 5th governing body of LDA presided over by the minister at the authority’s office. He said it was essential part of Pakistan People’s Party’s manifesto not let anyone remain employed and it was a fact that whenever PPP government came into power it brought maximum number of employment to the youths and prosperity to the country. The provincial minister said: “It is a great work of present democratic government that it has provided millions jobs to youths on merit and following the same spirit all contractual employees of Lyari Development Authority are being made permanent irrespectively”. He directed the officers concerned to speed up development works on the Hawksbay Scheme saying it should be ensured that all basic and standardised facilities be provided there and transparency should be maintained there. He said his government was trying its best to provide standardised living facilities to the people of Sindh. Secretary Local Government Lala Fazal-ur-Rehman. Director General Agha Maqsood Abbas and other high officials also attended the meeting.
