The 20th Master Trainers-Faculty Professional Development Programme (MT-FPDP) kicked off under the auspices of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Learning Innovation Division. The course would be completed on March 2 and 29 faculty members from HEC funded private universities would benefit from this training programme. Around 551 university faculty members have been trained under the HEC‘s MT-FPDP in 19 batches so far.
This training is designed for in-service university teachers and will cover 13 core modules and additional sessions on different important social topics. Recreational and study trips would also be arranged to different historic places.
The main objective of this training is to enhance and enrich teaching abilities to ensure quality education. The programme caters to participants of both pure and social sciences and its outcome is multi variant. During the inaugural ceremony, the chief guest, HEC Operations and Planning Member Nasser Ali Khan said faculty development has been main focus of the HEC since its inception. He was of the view that without proper training, the quality of teaching cannot be improved in an institution.
A number of faculty training programmes had been organised by the HEC for this purpose, he said. He advised all participants to become role models for their students and take full advantage of the training programme.
