The severely mutilated body of a twenty-year-old girl was discovered in Wazirabad on Tuesday.
Pedestrians on Ahmed Nagar road found the body in the morning and reported it to the police.
The body, wrapped in a bed sheet had several bruises as well as needle pricks on it. Police speculated that the girl had expired during an exorcism and the body was later abandoned.
Post mortem report showed that several bones had been broken whilst performing the exorcism by using a rod and the body also had burn marks probably caused by using heated iron.
The body was later handed over an NGO and was buried in a local graveyard. Police are investigating the matter.
