Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Monday said a university would be established at Tarnol, in the capital’s suburbs.
He said this while speaking to notables of Tarnol at the Prime Minister’s House. Ashraf directed the chief commissioner to make a plan to provide safe drinking water for the people of Tarnol. He stressed the need to rise above personal interests and think collectively to solve problems.
Ashraf said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government had braved many challenges during its tenure.
Despite the grave economic and security situation in 2008, the PPP-led government met these challenges by pursuing a policy of reconciliation as envisioned by Benazir Bhutto, he said.
The prime minister said the greatest service is to help people redress their problems. He urged political workers to reach out to people, listen to their problems and solve them.
“If you feel for the people, you can solve all problems,” Ashraf observed.
