Six more killed in city violence, bomb defused

At least six persons were killed in various incidents of firing in different areas of the city while a home-made bomb was defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) in Khawaja Ajmer Nagri area here on Monday.
According to details, religious party leader Maulana Ashgar and his daughter were killed on the spot when armed men opened fire at their car near Aisha Manzil area in Karachi, while his other daughter and a woman injured in the incident were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to the police, the incident was a target killing.
The deceased and injured were later shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat’s spokesman Maulana Akbar termed the incident of Maulana Ashgar’s killing an example of increasing terrorism in the city.
He also demanded the government to arrest the killer immediately.
In a separate incident, a man was killed in a firing incident in Chanesar Goth, whereas a dead body was found in the area of Orangi Town.
In another incident, a truck driver was gunned down in Karachi’s Surjani area, located near the Northern Bypass.
Furthermore, another man was gunned down in a separate firing incident in Sachal Goth area of the city.
Meanwhile, a home-made bomb was defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) in Karachi’s Khawaja Ajmer Nagri area, while six people were killed in various incidents of firing in different areas of the city.
According to details, a home-made bomb was found near the police station in the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri area of Karachi, after which the police called for the BDS, who immediately reached the spot and defused the bomb.
