Qadri should join politics before bringing revolution, says Kaira

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Monday said Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri should first join politics before bringing about any revolution in the country. “Joining politics is inevitable to talk about revolution and becoming a Pakistani national instead of holding dual nationality, is also equally essential,” Kaira said talking to various delegates and media representatives. He said revolutions never take place amidst confusion as it should be based on a clear objective. Kaira said the people talking of revolution had already announced not to contest election, however he said bringing a revolution while adhering to the constitution was self-contradictory. “First he should decide whether he and his party would contest elections or not,” Kaira reiterated. The minister said Qadri was a revered scholar but if he wanted to join politics, there was a constitutional method of doing that. Kaira said on the one hand, Qadri talked of supremacy of the constitution while on the other, he threatened of deciding the political future in Islamabad through a long march. To a question, Kaira said coalition partners were still supporting the government, however adding that sometimes they did have a difference of opinion. During his stay, Kaira also listened to the people’s grievances and directed the authorities concerned to resolve the problems.
