The employees of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on Monday staged a protest against non-payment of salaries here as thousands of employees have not been paid their salaries and pensions by the corporation so far.
According to the protestors, the employees falling above grade 5 had not received their salaries for the months of November and December, while more than 1,600 fire brigade employees had not received their allowances for the last three months. Meanwhile, Director Education Afaq Mirza told media persons that the teachers had also not received their salaries because of non availability of funds.
