Venezuelan authorities intensified their search for a small plane that disappeared off the coast of Venezuela with six people on board.
The National Guard, assisted by volunteers with private aircrafts and boats, have so far covered more than 360 square nautical miles in a search and rescue operation involving more than 385 people said AVN. Vittorio Missoni, the son of the eponymous fashion label’s founder Ottavio Missoni and his wife Maurizia Castiglioni along with an Italian couple and two Venezuelan crew members were onboard. Venezuela’s Interior Minister Nestor Reverol said that the plane was declared missing hours after taking off from Los Roques, a string of islands, cays and islets that is popular for scuba diving, white beaches and coral reefs. The plane was expected at Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas but never arrived.
