Fehmida Mirza orders an inquiry against Badin LBOD project director

The National Assembly Speaker, Dr Fehmida Mirza took notice of the gross irregularities, committed during the tendering and execution of the ongoing Left Bank Outflow Drainage project in Badin. She ordered an inquiry into the matter and requested Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to suspend the Project Director, Sardar Shah.
The speaker who is currently touring her constituency, was informed by the locals about the negligence and corruption of the officials designated on the project. The citizens alleged that the Project Director Sardar Shah was corrupt and had procured sub standard raw materials from his cronies in exchange of monetary benefits. It was also brought to her notice that the project had been hastily tendered without following the legal formalities.
On receiving these reports, the Speaker ordered an immediate inquiry and asked the CM to take the Project Director to task. She also vowed to communicate the gross violations of the project director to of President Asif Zardari.
