Qazi Hussain Ahmed laid to rest

Veteran politician and former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed who passed away of heart stroke on Saturday night was laid to rest at ancestral grave yard here on Sunday.
According to the details, Qazi Hussain Ahmed was suffering from heart and asthma disease. He was ill for the last three days and shifted to a private hospital in Islamabad where heart attack proved fatal.
His body was carried to native town Kaka Sahib of Peshawar.
The funeral prayer of the veteran politician was offered in Ring Road where thousands of people including family members, relatives, JI activists, party office bearers and politicians belonging to different political parties attended the funeral prayers.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hassan, Liaquat Baloch, Fareed Paracha, PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif, MQM chief Altaf Hussain, governor Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) Barrister Masood Kausar, Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti, CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif and others have expressed heartfelt grief over the sad demise of Qazi Hussain Ahmed.
Paying rich tributes to his services, they called the death of JI former Ameer as irreparable loss for the politics of the country. They also prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and courage for the bereaved family to bear loss with fortitude.
It should be mentioned that Qazi Hussain Ahmed was born in 1938 in the house of Maulana Qazi Muhammad Abdul Rab at Ziarat Kaka Sahib, Distt. Nowshera, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
After completing early education at home, Qazi Hussain Ahmad took admission in Islamia College, Peshawar and after that got his Masters of Science degree in Geography from Peshawar University. He served as lecturer for three years.
His affiliation with the Islamic Movement started in his school days when he joined Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT), Pakistan.
He became member of JI in 1970 and was elected to the office of President of its Peshawar branch. He served JI as Secretary and then Ameer of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
Qazi was raised to the office of Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in 1978 and then elected as Ameer (Chief) of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in 1983.
In 2008, he excused to be elected once more and the members of his Party (Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan) elected Syed Munawwar Hassan as the new President of the Party.
