A special vaccination campaign was launched in the city on Saturday to prevent the outbreak of measles epidemic. The campaign will last till January 15 during which children will be vaccinated against measles. Special camps have also been set up at basic health centres and dispensaries. Dr Imdadullah, EDO Karachi, said during the campaign 2.1 million children will be vaccinated in the city for which 534 teams had been posted in camps while 694 teams will work in outskirt areas of the city. Several hundred children have died in recent weeks due to measles in interior of Sindh.
