Russell Brand fights back in car accident lawsuit

Victor Sneed filed a lawsuit against Brand last year, claiming that he was injured when the actor drove into him in LA last January.Sneed is seeking over $25,000 (£15,400) for personal injury, property damage and hospital bills. However, Brand has now fought back in court documents obtained by E! News. In the papers, Brand says that he “denies both generally and specifically each, every and all of the allegations contained in the Complaint”. He goes on to allege that he was not responsible for the incident, as the papers state that Sneed’s “own negligence was the sole and proximate cause of the accident and any injuries he sustained”. The documents also claim that “any injury or damage” suffered by Sneed was a “direct, proximate and sole result of plaintiff’s physical bodily condition and constitutional composition”. Elsewhere in the court papers, Brand suggests that Sneed was working at the time of the accident and so should be compensated by his employers. Brand, whose FX talkshow Brand X will return in February, was recently rumoured to be dating MTV presenter Kate Peck.
