Folk dances mesmerise audience at Lok Virsa


Folk dancers from all over the country mesmerised visitors at the Lok Virsa on Thursday during the weeklong celebration of Pakistan Cultural Week. Attired in traditional costumes and vibrant hues, performers used props to illustrate their respective cultures. Their dances appealed to people of all ages. People in the audience said the performance were an opportunity for introducing Pakistan’s culture among the young generation in an entertaining way. Dance performances continued from the morning to late evening and added colour and music to the federal capital with a message of peace and harmony. These folk performances are regular part of Lok Virsa’s activities. They not only promote the cultural heritage of the country, but also give rural folk dancers an opportunity to earn money and keep their historical traditions alive.
