A seven-day old infant abandoned on the side of a road died on Thursday. According to details, a woman abandoned her seven-day old baby girl on the side of the road. Haji Amir Khan, who was passing by, noticed the infant and rushed her to nearest hospital. However, the girl died after suffering excessive exposure to the cold weather, After the incident, the police lodged an FIR against unknown persons and handed over the dead body to Amir Khan after completing initial investigations. Separately, a robbery took place in a jeweler’s store in the area of Hurbanspura. According to reports, robbers entered the store as customers, held the shopkeepers hostage and robbed gold worth Rs 200,000, thousands of rupees in cash.
