Who will renovate the Airport Road?

The Airport Road (Islamabad Highway) has been damaged in several places from Flying Chowk to Koral Chowk, causing accidents and inconvenience for road users, but the administration has taken no steps to repair it. The road forms the major artery between the twin cities and has been neglected by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA), who refuse to take responsibility for its repair. According to the RDA, the CDA had constructed the road and should be responsible for repairing it. On the other hand, CDA officials say their authority extends till Koral Chowk and the revenue limits of Rawalpindi start there. They added that the authority had constructed the road from Koral Chowk to 52 Flying Club on special directives of the former prime minister. CDA Works DG Tanveer Hassan Shah, in a letter to the RDA DG, maintained that the RDA was responsible for renovation and maintenance on the road.
