President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the government to take immediate measures for overcoming fuel shortage. He was talking to Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf during a meeting in Karachi on Wednesday.
Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh was also present in the meeting. The president also asked the prime minister to direct the concerned authorities for taking appropriate measures to resolve energy shortage being faced by the people. The finance minister briefed the president regarding steps being taken by the government to tackle the situation.
Both the leader also discussed overall political and economic situation of the country during the meeting.
The president and prime minister said the political activities were not prohibited but stressed that all activities should remain in limits of political process.
The prime minister also briefed the president about the energy situation in the country and various steps being taken to overcome shortage of gas and electricity. Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also present during the meeting.
