Punjab Highway Patrol Additional IG Khan Baig was on Wednesday appointed the Punjab additional IG and given an additional charge of Punjab inspector general of police. A notification in this regard has been issued by the Punjab government. Baig was born in 1954 and belongs to the 8th common course. Reports said Baig had earlier served in Karachi, Faisalabad, Saikot and Quetta, and also served Sargodha as the RPO. He became an ASP in 1980 and promoted as an SP in 1987. Baig was appointed the Highways Patrol additional IG in 2011. He has been replaced by Malik Khuda Baksh as the Highway Patrol additional IG.
