The Benazir Bhutto International Airport and the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway have been closed for traffic as thick fog covered the federal capital and adjoining areas. All domestic and international flights have been cancelled or diverted to other cities due to the dense fog. The Motorway Police announced that the Chakri and Kallar Kahar Interchange and adjoining areas would be closed for traffic due to heavy fog. Traffic would be diverted to the GT Road, they added. The motorway will be reopened for vehicular traffic after visibility improves, the Motorway Police said.
