Four sheesha parlours slapped with fines worth Rs 38,000

An operation has been launched against sheesha (hubble-bubble) parlours in F-11 Markaz and F-11/3. Islamabad Assistant Commissioner (AC) Waqas Rashid launched the current operation and taking action against four sheesha parlours, imposed fines worth Rs 38,000 against them for violating anti-smoking laws.
The AC also warned the owners that if they tried to reopen the sheesha parlours, than strict action would be taken against them.
It merits mentioning here that effective action had also been taken against 20 sheesha parlours during this year alone.
Meanwhile, the AC also demanded from the traders and the general public that they should cooperate with the authorities concerned to put an end to the culture of sheesha smoking and to close down the many parlours which had sprung up in the city in hotels and coffee shops.
