Bangladesh has cancelled its cricket team’s tour to Pakistan, citing security reasons for the players despite Islamabad’s all out assurances.
The BCB chief Nazmul Hasan, while speaking to media in his country, has reportedly said that Bangladesh has decided that the board would not send the cricket team to Pakistan, saying that “security situation is not ideal there.”
“We have still concerns over security matters in Pakistan where the situation is not so far satisfactory for us,” Hasan told reporters.
PCB was later officially informed of the decision.
Bangladesh had agreed to send a team to Pakistan in April this year to play a Twenty20 match and one-day international in Lahore. However, the Dhaka High Court issued a restraining order stopping Bangladesh from playing in Pakistan due to security concerns.
Eight Pakistanis were killed and six Sri Lanka players wounded in 2009 when gunmen fired on their coach as they were being driven to the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore.
Let's make Pakistan a safe, secure, rich, progressive, and great country. Meanwhile, continue to play outside Pakistan, keep winning (as we did against England, India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, etc.) and improve our overall rating. Stop begging BD and instead, wait for the good times to come to Pakistan and these teams will be begging to be invited to play here. Those of you who do not believe me, consider South Africa. After years of ban from cricket due to Apartheid, the South Africans are back in the world of cricket with vengeance and today they are regarded an elite team. Long live Pakistan.
There is no way any team can go to pakistan unless the position of sri lanka team attack is known.Nobody has been convicted nor motives clear. What prevents the group to repeat the attack?
