Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said funding for education and health would be his government’s top priority if he came to power. He urged the youth to focus on education for no country could progress without it. “Muslims had been ruling the world when they were leaders in education but they segregated into pieces the day they stopped educating their children,” said Khan.
He made these remarks while addressing different public meetings at Bangi Khel, Eissa Khel and adjoining areas. PTI leaders Inamullah Niazi, Ayla Malik and Nawab of Kalabagh Malik Amir Mohammad Khan also addressed the gatherings. Khan termed Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif as part of the same league saying they had been in power for the last three decades but had done nothing for the welfare of the people of the country. “All they have achieved so far is increase the miseries of the unprivileged,” said the PTI chief.
Khan said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and PML-N had been taking turns at ruling the country but now their days were numbered because they had been exposed in front of the people of Pakistan.
“PTI’s tsunami will cleanse the country from the corrupt and outdated politicians in the next general elections,” asserted Khan.
He said it was unfortunate that laws applied only to the poor in Pakistan and the influential people remained above its grip. He vowed that PTI would bring about a change in the country by eliminating the prevailing unjust political system. He said the politicians were not paying taxes and were keeping their assets abroad. Severely criticising Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for utilising all development funds of the province in Lahore and Raiwind, Khan accussed Sharif of spending Rs 72 billion over a single 22-kilometer-road, whereas he could have changed the destiny of entire Mianwali with just Rs 10 billion. “Afraid of the PTI’s popularity in the younger generation, Sharif is distributing laptops to win their votes. I call upon the youth to get laptops which have been purchased through the national kitty but still vote for PTI to get rid of these corrupt rulers,” he said.
Khan said most of the parliamentarians where illiterate and did not even know how to write their names which was why the country was lagging behind in all spheres.
Khan said only the masses could bring change through their votes when they vote for honest people in the upcoming elections.
The PTI chief welcomed Iqbal Khatak and Makhdoom of Balot Sharif Syed Murtajiz Shah along with thousands of his followers into the ranks of PTI.
