Closure of CNG stations for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday invited the anger of motorists and commuters of the city.
According to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Managing Director Arif Hameed, CNG stations in Lahore, Multan, Sahiwal and Sheikhupura were closed for another day due to low gas pressure and to ensure supply for the domestic consumers.
The supply to the CNG stations was expected to resume on Thursday after a three-day closure but low pressure compelled the utility company to cut the supply for another day. CNG supply was expected to resume today (Friday). However, SNGPL announced late Thursday evening that CNG supply would remain closed on Friday as well.
Citizens complained that CNG closure for another day had been a source of great inconvenience. They said that CNG was a relatively cheap source of fuel for their vehicles, adding that the extended closure of CNG gas had forced them to purchase alternative sources of fuel which was much more expensive.
