Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief and spiritual leader of Hur community Pir Pagara Sibghatullah Rashdi appointed former premier Mir Zafarullah Jamali the party’s central vice president whereas his son Mir Fareedullah Jamali and Ghulam Mustafa Khar have been appointed party presidents for Balochistan and Punjab, respectively.
Earlier, all three fresh appointees had called on the PML-F chief at his residence. The announcement was made later at a press conference by the PML-F chief which was attended by the three leaders. Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) senior leader and Deputy Prime Minister Parvez Elahi also met Pir Pagara at Raja House to discuss the political scenario in light of the upcoming general elections. Elahi said the relationship between the two political forces was an old one, established by their elders. He hoped that the ties between them will strengthen in times to come and said the process of mutual consultation will continue to chalk out a strategy for the future.
Elahi said it had become very difficult for any single party to sweep the elections and the political situation demanded formation of alliances, adding that consultation with Pir Pagara will continue in this regard. Elahi said he had invited Pir Pagara to Lahore on Chaudhry Shujaat’s behalf and hoped the leader will visit the city and the two parties will be able to evolve a positive strategy for the upcoming elections. Elahi, during his stay in Karachi, also attended a dinner hosted by prominent industrialist Bashir Jan Muhammad and met several industrialists and members of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA).
