A two-judge bench comprising of Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani and Justice Nasirul Mulk issued a notice upon a plea moved by the sacked contract employees.
The bench admitted the plea for regular hearing which would be taken up in the first week of February 2013.
The counsel apprised the bench that a total of 642 employees were inducted in the excise department in July 2011, but later their services were terminated.
The bench inquired from Balochistan Additional Advocate General Azam Khattak whether he had any facts to place before the bench to which he replied that they would submit their stance after the issuance of a notice.
