Peasant’s eyes gouged out over old enmity

An influential landlord accompanied by his seven accomplices gouged out eyes of a peasant over old enmity here late Wednesday night.
According to details, Ghulam Fareed, a dominant landowner of the area late on Wednesday along with his seven cohorts barged into house of Bilal, a peasant, located in tehsil Jatoi of Muzaffargarh district, with whom he was in old dispute.
The accused subjected Bilal to severe torture and gouged his eyes out, leaving him in critical condition and fled the scene.
They said that the injured was shifted to Multan’s Nishtar Hospital for treatment.
The police registered a case against the culprits and arrested three accused while raids to nab others were underway.
Meanwhile, the dwellers of the area held protest against the inhuman incident and demanded the chief justice to take suomoto notice.
The chief minister Punjab taking notice of act of barbarism has directed the authorities for arresting the culprits and providing best treatment facilities to injured person.
