A mother and four of her kids have been diagnosed with AIDS in the city’s Burki area and the five of them have been shifted to a local hospital for medical assistance.
The father of the kids has already passed away from the same disease.
Health in-charge of a local foundation Khalida Ashraf told Pakistan Today about the diagnosis of these patients. She said her foundation had set-up a free medical camp in the area where doctors treated around 150 patients. She said a widowed woman had come to the camp along with her children where all of them were diagnosed with the fatal disease during check-up. The affected children are between two to eight years old. Ashraf said in such poverty-stricken areas, people affected by Hepatitis, Diabetes, TB and various other ailments were unable to afford medical treatment.
