The fifth death anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto will be observed today (Thursday) and the Pakistan People’s Party has finalised arrangements in this regard at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. Senior PPP leaders, members of the National and provincial assemblies, office bearers and a large number of PPP workers from all provinces will attend the event. Over 10,000 police and rangers personnel will be present during the PPP rally. Walk-through security gates have also been installed at all entrances to the venue. President Asif Ali Zardari, who arrived in the Bhutto hometown on Wednesday, is expected to address the rally along with PPP Co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. Bilawal will make his formal entry into the Pakistani politics at the event, a PPP source revealed on Wednesday. “Bilawal will make his entry into politics during the meeting at Garhi Khuda Bukhsh and will take over PPP’s campaign for the upcoming general election. However, he cannot contest polls until he turns 25 in September next year,” the source said. He said Bilawal is also expected to make Benazir’s assassination report public. The source added that there had been speculations that Zardari might announce the date for the next general elections at tomorrow’s event. “The president is very secretive about this and he himself will decide whether or not to announce the date for the polls,” the source said.
Jialas from Asif Zardari down celebrate this sad day as if it was a happy occasion. On the contrary Qauide Azam's birthday a happy occasion, was
celebrated very insignificantly. This is a true reflection of degeneration of this nation.Today all our degenerate TV Channels are trying to beat each other to show their 'loyalty'while on 25 Dec the news was mentioned somewhere down the bulletin. The News has a very appropriate item in its Cartoon section today which should put ALL JIALAS heads in shame.
she would have still been alive if she had dumped Zardari and married Shahbaz Sharif.
After the martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto the PPP still retains the populist politics of the Bhuttos. Zardari proved him a leader of charismatic appeal. Although After BB Shaheed PPP turned into a crowd of mourners yet Zardari decided to fulfill the dreams and ambitious of BB and in a short spam of rule, he proved him true heir of Bhuttos. He very keenly followed BB’s last campaign for a secular, liberal, democratic, peaceful and progressive Pakistan. In the leadership of Zardari the PPP is fully trying to create a liberal progressive pole against the religious right that wants to keep Pakistan as a hotbed of contending sectarian, medieval, terrorist outfits, which is at war with itself and the
World around. I want to ask those, who constantly allege PPP for not working to materialize the dreams of BB that what else can be a better tribute than this to BB Shaheed.
