Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Wednesday announced that it will stop annual and temporary commercialization on 48 roads and grant only permanent commercial activity on these roads after December 31.
In a statement, LDA said that owners and occupants of properties already working on annual basis could, however, get their properties permanently commercialised after payment of requisite fee for this purpose.
Notices in this regard had been served to the owners and occupants of these properties for getting their properties permanently commercialized, the statement said.
Commercial activity had been allowed on 48 roads, situated in LDA schemes, under Land Use Rules 2009. LDA also decided not to extend permission for annual and temporary commercialisation on roads other than the 48 declared roads after December 2013. All sorts of commercial activity will be banned on such roads after this date.
