Three Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders on Tuesday announced to join the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). The politicians from Bahawalpur said their former party leadership had not paid any heed to their problems.
Syed Salman Gardezi, Irfan Ahmed Gardezi and Sajid Hussain made this announcement during a press conference at Governor’s House. PPP Punjab President Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo was also present. Talking to reporters, Wattoo said more PML-N leaders would join the PPP soon. He said although the newly-appointed Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood was affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F), he was a PPP sympathiser. The PPP president said he had no differences with Naheed Khan and Safdar Abbasi, adding that they had grievances with the federation not with the provincial leadership. He said the PPP would continue its activities at the Punjab Governor’s House.
