Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday attended the oath-taking ceremony of new Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmud at the Governor House.
The chief minister congratulated Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmud on assuming the office of Governor Punjab.
Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Lahore Corps Commander Lt Gen Rashid Mahmood, ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman and Ehsanuddin Qureshi, Special Assistant Zaeem Hussain Qadri and PPP Senator Jehangir Badar were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, when the chief minister arrived at the Governor House to attend the oath-taking ceremony, Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmud came out to receive him and the two held a meeting after the ceremony.
Shahbaz and Mahmud discussed matters of mutual interest and running the affairs of the province with mutual understanding. They agreed to establish a cordial working environment in the Punjab.
