Former Pakistan Muslim League-N ticket-holder from Chakwal (PP-22) Pir Nisar Qasim on Tuesday joined Pakistan Muslim League along with his followers.
He made the announcement when he called on Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid leader and Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi at his residence in Lahore. He was accompanied by Sardar Ghulam Mehdi, Chaudhry Muhammad Ali, Chaudhry Ghulam Haider, Chaudhry Qasim Ali, Chaudhry Tanveer Ali, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin Khan, Muhammad Basharat Raja and several other local leaders.
While making the announcement, Pir Nisar Qasim expressed complete confidence in the leadership of Shujat Hussain and called Pervaiz Elahi’s tenure “Punjab’s golden era”.
“Under his leadership, Punjab prospered, while the N-League has rendered it bankrupt. Crime has also increased to a great extent. Nawaz and Shahbaz do not listen to their parliamentarians and only impose orders. Many N-league parliamentarians will leave once the elections are announced,” he said.
Welcoming Pir Nisar Qasim, Elahi said the PML-Q would become stronger in Chakwal with Qasim’s joining.
