Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari wished our Christian brethren a Merry Christmas and hoped and prayed that the day would bring hope and joy for all humans on planet Earth.
In an official message that he dispatched, he wrote: “I hope that Christmas would be enjoyable and may the essence of Christmas remain always with the people celebrating it with religious and traditional fervor”. Bilawal underscored that PPP believed in the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. He assured all the minority communities of Pakistan, especially the Christian community that PPP would always follow a secular ideology and would always safeguard the cultures, religions, properties and lives of all minority communities of Pakistan. He said that my “Party would extend all kind of protection to all the citizens of Pakistan without any discrimination to follow and observe their respective religions without any fear as my grand-father Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and mother Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto lost their lives during the struggle for an egalitarian democracy where everybody should have equal rights”.
Meanwhile Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said that Jesus Christ propagated peace, love, brotherhood and dignity for the whole of mankind. Altaf added that “our message is also the same as that of Hazrat Isa (AS)”. He was addressing a Christmas prayer gathering at Nine Zero. Altaf greeted the Christian community saying: “We all believe in Hazrat Isa (AS) and love him. Hazrat Isa (AS) also loved the oppressed people.”
Pastors and bishops from different churches of the city, people hailing from the Christian community and other religions were present for the prayers. Members of the co-ordination committee, members of the minorities committee, and office-bearers of various wings of the MQM were also present on the occasion.
