Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira has said the general elections will be held on time.
Talking to the media persons here‚ he said there are no obstacles in the way of holding of general elections on time. The caretaker setup will be in place by March 16 after the dissolution of assemblies, he said.
He emphatically stated that only the political parties‚ elected representatives and the parliament have the prerogative to take decisions and not the military and judiciary.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said “Pakistan People’s Party believes in the politics of ideology and not of any groups. Only those people who will be elected to power by the people will bring change.”
Recounting the achievements of the present government‚ the information minister said “we gave greater resources and autonomy to the provinces. Balochistan has been given more resources to remove their sense of deprivation.”
