A blast ripped through a Medressah in Badakshan province 315 km northeast of Kabul, injuring 13 Taliban or seminarians, spokesman for provincial administration Abdul Marouf Rasikh said.
“The blast took place inside a Medressah (religious school) in Shinoi village of Yawan district as a result 13 Taliban (seminarians) were injured six of them in critical condition,” Rasikh said.
He also said “it might be gas cylinder blast”, adding investigation has been initiated to identify the reason for the incident.
It is the first time that a blast has rocked Medressah or religious school and injuring Taliban or seminarians in the militancy-plagued Afghanistan where government interests including schools and teachers attacked.
