Rescue 1122 organises disaster response course

The Punjab Emergency Service’s (PES) Rescue 1122 organised on Sunday the first Community Action for Disaster Response (CADRE) under which people will be educated at the Emergency Services Academy. Addressing the participants of the training course, PES Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer said the department had already established an effective emergency management system in all districts of Punjab. “The project will be carried out in collaboration with NDMA, Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre, Pakistan Red Crescent Society and NDMP. The first town chosen in this regard is Shahdara,” said Naseer.
The people training includes preparation against common community hazards, family needs, prioritizing patients in disasters, basic first aid, search and rescue and fire safety. CADRE training has already been conducted in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Laos, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines and Vietnam.
