Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, senior most judge of the Supreme Court took oath as acting Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk administered oath as acting Chief Justice of Pakistan in Supreme Court building Islamabad in a simple but dignified ceremony. Tassaduq Hussain Jillani will act as Chief Justice of Pakistan during the period the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary remains abroad.
Representatives of the Bars, Prominent Lawyers and Law Officers attended the ceremony.
Dr. Faqir Hussain, Registrar Supreme Court of Pakistan conducted the proceedings of oath taking ceremony. Officers and staff of the Supreme Court of Pakistan were also present at the occasion.
