Pensioners’ plight

I would like to draw the attention of all concerned, especially the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication towards the humanitarian issue of more than 40,000 telecom pensioners across Pakistan.
These federal government pensioners, including 12,000 widows and orphans, are in miserable conditions for last three years due to denial of increases in pension and medical allowance by PTET (Pakistan Telecommunication Employees Trust) as announced in 2010-11, 2011-12 and even in the current year 2012-13, by the Government of Pakistan. These increases had regularly been paid to us for 14 consecutive years by the PTET after its establishment in 1991. These people served the nation as well as government but are now deprived of usual increases. The PTET, working under Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, has denied granting increases as announced by the government. The Prime Minister, President and Chief Justice of Pakistan are requested to take notice of defiance of GoP orders and to order to grant these increases to the sick, old, widows and orphans.
