As many as 45 senior police officials with political affiliation are likely to be removed from field postings before the general elections, sources told Pakistan Today. On the orders of the Election Commission of Pakistan, the inspectors general (IGs) of the four provinces were asked to issue lists of the police officials who have political connections or their family members were taking part in elections. Sources said that more than 45 police officials, including deputy inspector generals, senior superintendents of police (SSPs) and superintendents of police (SPs) were likely to be removed from field postings with the advent of elections.
